Women's Lacrosse: Senior Devyne Doran Gains All-Region Honors from IWLCA

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut State University senior women’s lacrosse defender Devyne Doran (South Kingstown, RI) has been voted to the IWLCA Division III All-Berkshire Region second team, announced today.

One of only two selections from the Little East Conference, Doran becomes the program’s ninth selection since 2003, first since 2012. A total of 32 individuals –

16 first-teamers and 16 second-teamers – were named to the all-region team, which encompasses New England.

The program’s first player twice named LEC Defensive Player-of-the-Year and one of four four-time All-LEC selections (the only defender) in program history, Doran led Eastern to its second straight LEC regular-season title with a perfect 6-0 record this past spring and into the conference championship game.

Doran started all 18 matches in which she appeared for the 14-5 Warriors, and was named LEC Defensive Player-of-the-Week in each of the final two reports. In the LEC, she ranks in a tie for first in draw controls (63), tied for second in ground balls (54) and third in caused turnovers (39), setting personal season-highs in all three of those categories. Her caused turnover total equaled the third-most in a season in program history. Offensively, she also chipped in nine goals and an assist in 2017.

In her career, Doran started all 66 matches in which she appeared, missing only one. All-time, she ranks third in draws (193) and seventh in ground balls (181).
