In her first collegiate meet Jan. 20 at Plymouth State, freshman Madeleine Dalberg of Pitea, Sweden broke the women’s indoor track & field record in the 60 hurdles of 9.93 with a time of 9.70 in a third-place finish and recorded the third-farthest long jump (17-3 ¼) in program history in helping the Warriors to second place among nine teams at the Plymouth State University Invitational Saturday at ALLWell North on the PSU campus. ¾). In a field of 25, in the 60, Dalberg won her heat (fourth overall in a time of 8.52) and was timed at 8.47 for fourth place in the final. The long jump qualified her for next month’s New England Division III Championships and left her just seven inches shy of qualifying for the New England Open. In her second meet Jan. 27 at Springfield College, she topped a field of 21 by nearly a foot with a long jump mark of 17-2 ¾ and her first career win. Dalberg is a first-semester Communication major.
