At the New England Division III Championships May 5 at MIT, junior Haley Knox of Bristol broke her own program record in the 3000 meet steeplechase with a time of 11:46.63 which gave her eighth place in a field of 17 competitors and earned her All-New England honors. It maked the third time in three weeks that Knox broke the program record in that event. She initially broke Amanda Quinones' record of 12:33.05 with a time of 12:17.28 April 14 at the Mount Holyoke College Spring Fling with a second-place finish, then lowered her record to 11:58.25 two weeks later at the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championships when she was second in the LEC and third in the alliance before bettering that mark again at the New England Division III meet the following week. In addition to breaking her own 3000 steeplechase record at the New England meet, Knox ran a leg of the record-setting 4x800 meter relay which was timed in 9:46.86. Knox was the only member of the relay which had also been a member of the relay which had set the record at the 2017 New England Championshps at 9:54.89.
