At the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational for elite runners April 13, junior Samantha McKosky of Deep River broke her own record in the 1,500 with a time of 4:46.88 – five seconds faster than her winning time at the Warrior Invitational two weeks earlier – good enough to qualify for next month’s New England Division III Championships. In an impressive field of 28 runners, McKosky won her heat and was eighth overall. The next day, McKosky helped Eastern win the Mount Holyoke College Spring Fling Saturday by winning the 5,000 in a field of 16 in a time of 18:57.82 as the only runner to break 20 minutes.
