All Selections

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut State University senior libero Michelle Valliere (Lebanon) has been selected as the program’s 27th participant to the NEWVA (New England Women’s Volleyball Association) Division III Senior Classic.

A total of 34 individuals representing 24 programs were named to the team. The game will be held Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium on the campus of Emerson College, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Valliere is one of seven players from the Little East Conference named to the team, among them AVCA All-America Rachel Lamica of Keene State College and LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Year Jessica Williamson.

A two-year starter, 2017 co-captain, and four-year member of the program, Valliere appeared in all 27 matches this year for the Warriors, who finished 18-9 overall and 4-3 in the conference. As the No. 3 tournament seed, Eastern advanced to the tournament semifinals following a three-set sweep of No. 6 University of Southern Maine in the first rounds.

In 2017, Valliere led Eastern in digs (425) for the second straight year and was second in receptions (386) and second in service aces (28). She ranked third in the LEC in digs per set (4.78) and fourth in total digs.

In her 108-match career, Valliere totaled 968 digs and 90 service aces.

Eastern’s most recent NEWVA Senior All-Star selections and Valliere’s former teammates included outside hitter Adrianna Mihalek (2016) and libero Allie Luppi (2015).
