Box Score BOSTON – The Eastern Connecticut State University field hockey team remained unbeaten in this series with Wheelock College by outshooting the Wildcats 14-0 in the second half, when it wiped out a halftime deficit with three goals en route to its sixth win all-time against the hosts, 3-1, Tuesday night at Winsor Field.
Sophomore forward Deisy Naranjo (Washington Heights, NY) scored two goals in a match for the second time in four contests this year and first-year sophomore goalie Olivia Mullen (Bethel) lowered her goalsa-gainst average to 1.25 by making two saves as the Warriors evened their record at 2-2.
Wheelock (0-3) took a 1-0 halftime lead by scoring with less than a minute left in the first half but freshman forward Laura Chicorka (Enfield) tied the match with her first career goal less than a minute into the second half. Naranjo scored twice less than three minutes apart midway through the half, with senior forward Hannah Collier (Watertown) contributing her team-leading third assists on the go-ahead one and Chicorka adding her second assist of the season on the second..
Eastern outshot Wheelock, 16-3, forcing Wildcat goalie Michelle Greene to make seven saves.
Eastern plays the first of three straight home match Saturday at noon when it hosts Westfield State University in a Little East Conference match.
