Box Score MANSFIELD, Conn. -- Junior Hannah Keiser (Danbury) and freshman Alex Kallgren (Dudley, MA) tied Eastern Connecticut State University match records and the Warriors scored their most goals in 17 seasons of Little East Conference play with a 6-1 victory over Westfield State University Saturday afternoon at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex.

In the conference opener for both teams, Kallgren scored twice in the first 14 minutes for Eastern (3-1, 1-0 LEC) , and after Westfield (2-10-1 LEC) got one back with eight minutes left in the first half, the Warriors scored the final four goals in ending a nine-game losing streak at the hands of the Owls and defeating Westfield for only the fourth time in 16 meetings all-time.
The goals are the most for Eastern in a conference match and the five-goal winning margin equals its most eve, matching a 5-0 home shutout of Westfield 11 years ago. The teams shared seventh place in last year's 12-team conference.
Kallgren, who has scored five of Eastern's 11 goals this year, became the ninth player in program history with a hat trick, and Keiser became the third player to record as many as three assists.
Keiser, who set a program record with 13 goals last year, set up all three of Kallgren's goals – her first three assists of the year.
Sophomore Paige Schneider (East Lyme) was credited with a crucial goal when she re-directed a shot by junior Laura Chicorka (Enfield) less than six minutes into the second half that allowed Eastern to re-gain its two-goal lead, 3-1. Senior Deisy Naranjo (Washington Heights, NY) and sophomore Elly Walker (Scarborough, ME) scored 1:20 apart later in the second half to guarantee Eastern's third straight win.
Sophomore Samantha Scavo (Redding) gained the win by stopping three shots over the first 62 minutes, with freshman Maddie LaRusso (Enfield) making her collegiate debut by playing the final eight shutout minutes.
Westfield was unable to capitalize on nine penalty corners and was outshot, 18-4.
