WENHAM, Mass – Six different players contributed goals when the Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team amassed an early nine-goal lead as the Warriors coasted to a 13-9 non-conference win over Gordon College Saturday afternoon at Brigham Complex.

In the first meeting between the programs, sophomore Katie Burke (South Windsor) and freshman Michelina Pinto (Groton) combined on seven goals when Eastern (6-4) surged to an 11-2 lead five minutes into the second half and the Warriors went on to their fourth straight win – their longest win streak since winning six in a row in 2012.

Twenty of Eastern's roster players saw time. The Warriors scored the first five goals of the match and allowed only two in moving out to an 8-2 lead at halftime. Gordon (3-7) netted the final five goals of the match after sophomore Maggie Bodington (Stratford) scored an unassisted goal with 16 minutes left that ballooned the Warriors' lead to 13-4.

Junior goalie Taylor Emmerson (Colchester) stopped nine shots and departed with a 13-5 lead with 7:38 remaining.

Burke scored all four of her goals and Pinto all three of hers in the first 35 minutes. Bodington picked up a pair of goals and Burke two assists. Four of Eastern's eight first-half goals came via the free-position shot.

Junior Paige Schneider (East Lyme) won six of Eastern's 13 draws, with Pinto winning four. Bodington and junior Devyne Doran (South Kingstown, RI) each caused three turnovers, Doran and junior Caroline Regan (Niantic) each picking up three ground balls.

Eastern hosts Framingham State University in a non-conference match Tuesday at 5 p.m.
