Defensive Player-of-the-Week
Tristan Kijak, Jr., M, Windsor
Kijak led Eastern to a 14-2 non-conference win over visiting Mitchell College Wednesday at Rick McCarthy Field with five goals on five shots, seven ground balls, seven caused turnovers and two draw controls. Kijak shares third place in the conference in goals (17), is fourth in points (18), first in ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (21), and fourth in draw controls (20). For the week ending March 8, Kijak was voted as both the week's top offensive and top defensive.

Player-of-the-Week
Julia SanGiovanni, So., 3B, East Haven
SanGiovanni was 5-for-7 with ten total bases and six runs scored in a 7-2, 13-2 non-conference home sweep of Wesleyan University Wednesday in the Warriors' openers at Clyde Washburne Field. The cleanup hitter drove in three runs and had a double in each game. In the first game, she had three hits, including the second of the team's back-to-back home runs with two out in the first inning. She also had a two-run double in the sixth inning of the opener. In the second game which was stopped after five innings, she reached safely with two hits and a walk. SanGiovanni leads the LEC in average (.714) and slugging (1.429), shares the lead in home runs (1) and is second in on-base percentage (.750). The weekly honor is the third in the two-year career of SanGiovanni, who was named Rookie-of-the-Week twice in 2019. She went on to be named to the All-LEC first team at utility for the eventual LEC tournament and Super Regional champions.
