Women's Lacrosse: Warriors Dispatch Rhode Island College to Even Little East Conference Record at 3-3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team continued its trend of winning by a lot and losing by a lot Tuesday, trouncing Rhode Island College, 24-6, to even its Little East Conference record.

Eastern (9-4, 3-3 LEC) had little trouble avenging its 2019 one-goal loss at Rhode Island (1-5, 0-5 LEC) -- its only loss in the 21-game series -- by surging to a 12-2 lead midway through the first half.

With one regular-season game remaining, Eastern has won its games by an average of 17 goals and lost by an average of ten.

Sophomore Caroline Stent (Weatogue) became the program's 17th 50-goal scorer when she connected on a team-high five to hit that milestone on the button. She also had two assists, five draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Sophomore Chloe Miller (Avon), senior Tristan Kijak (Windsor) and junior Cassie Bennett (Milford) all contributed four goals. Kijak also had three assists and six draws and sophomore Shay Ventresca (Oakdale) three goals, three assists and three ground balls. Bennett and Stent each had four ground balls.

Eastern closes out the regular season at the University of Southern Maine Saturday at 3 p.m. in a conference match.
