WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Castleton University women's volleyball team was able to end a string of 13 straight set wins by Eastern Connecticut State University with a late comeback in the third set, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Warriors from completing a perfect abbreviated season in the Little East Conference Friday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium. Set scorers were 25-9, 25-15, 24-26, 25-8.
After winning the first two sets, Eastern (5-0, 5-0 LEC) was outscored 10-1 by Castleton (0-5, 0-5 LEC) to end the third set game in losing for the first time after 13 straight set wins. The Warriors won 15 of 18 sets during the season, sweeping three straight matches after edging Keene State College, 3-2, in the opener March 28.
