In addition, Barry was named NEWBA (New England Women's Basketball Association) Player-of-the-Week for the second time this season. The weekly LEC honor is the fourth this year for Barry, who was named for the second time in basketball after two selections this past fall in volleyball. In the double-overtime win over Southern Maine, Barry had 18 points and a career-high 18 rebounds and blocked three shots, with her second block breaking the previous career block record of 174, set by Lexis Foster (2013-17). After missing an earlier home loss to Rhode Island, Barry had 23 points and ten rebounds and was 9-of-11 from the stripe with three blocks in the recent win. Since missing three games in December, Barry has averaged 16.7 points 12.1 rebounds with 21 blocked shots and a 52.6 field goal percentage over the last ten games, nine of them wins. Seven of those ten games have resulted in double-doubles. Barry is first in the LEC in rebounding (9.9), field goal percentage (.512) and blocks (40) and is second in scoring (14.8). Eastern visits Southern Maine Monday at 5 p.m. in an LEC makeup game.
