Box Score PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- The Vassar College women's lacrosse team used a four-goal burst in a span of less than two minutes as part of an eight-goal first quarter and Eastern Connecticut State University never fully recovered in the Warriors' 23-12 non-conference loss Monday morning at Publix Sports Park.

Jessie Pyrek-Bennett (Monroe) and
Caroline Stent (Weatogue) scored 1:22 apart to cut Vassar's (2-1) early three-goal lead to one, but the Brewers answered with consecutive goals from Maddie Kretten and two teammates in less than two minutes as part of a 6-1 run that made it 10-4 in the opening minutes of the second quarter. An overall scoring run of 13-3 later pushed the Vassar lead to 17-7 a minute into the second half.

Stent led Eastern (1-2) with four goals and won nine draws, with Pyrek-Bennett, junior
Kaylee Drobish (Wallingford) and senior
Shay Ventresca (Oakdale) each adding two goals each. Three of Stent's goal came on free-position shots. Sophomore
Abby Parisi (Fairfield)Â won three draws and caused three turnovers.

Ninteen Eastern turnovers helped Vassar to a 32-20 advantage in shots. Kretten (6 goals, 3 assists) and Emma Torkelson (5 goals, 2 assists) combined for 11 goals and five assist for the Brewers and each claimed four draws.
Eastern faces Marymount University Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Publix Park before opening at home a week from Thursday against Montclair State University at 4 p.m.
