We are pleased to welcome our fourth 2023 field hockey commit, midfielder
Katie Harrington.
The Keene, NH native played four years of varsity field hockey at Keene High School. During her time as a Blackbird, Katie was named first-team Division I All State by the New Hampshire Field Hockey Coaches Association as a junior, and honorable mention Division I All-State honors as a senior, when she and also received the Gene Seaver Sportsmanship Award and the Audrey Harris Award.
Katie's favorite thing about field hockey is knowing that she will always have something new to learn and improve upon.
Katie looks to study elementary education and chose Eastern because it has everything she was looking for both academically and athletically, and the team was very welcoming from the start.
Last fall, Keene was seeded eighth in the NHIAA Division I field hockey tournament and hosted its first tournament game in five years, shutting out Londonderry for the second time during the season, 4-0, to even its record at 8-8-1 before dropping a 2-1 decision in the quarterfinals to top-seeded and eventual state runner-up Winnacunnet.
As a sophomore, Katie helped the Blackbirds defeat Nashua North in the state tournament preliminary round.
Welcome to the Warrior family, Katie!
