Box Score WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Six-foot-two inch graduate forward Carly Whiteside led both teams with 24 points and ten rebounds that helped pace the nationally-ranked University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's basketball team to its 14
th straight Little East Conference regular-season victory, 75-54, over Eastern Connecticut State University Wednesday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.
Coming off a 42-point loss at UMass Dartmouth (16-2, 9-0 LEC) in a game where it trailed by 21 at halftime in early January, Eastern (7-12, 6-4 LEC) battled the Corsairs throughout the first half, trailing by only five after one quarter and by 12 at the half before the Corsairs used a +11 rebounding advantage to pull away in the second half.
The conference leader in scoring (78.5 ppg.) and scoring margin (+18), UMass improved to 8-1 this year on its opponent's home court with its tenth straight win. Eastern has lost three in a row after winning three straight and fell to 4-5 at home this year.
Senior guard Kaylin Zalewski had seven rebounds, seven points, seven assists and four steals with only one turnover in 22 minutes for the Corsairs, with guard guard Teja Andrews adding 13 points and eight rebounds.

Taylor Salato (East Haven) – saddled with two personal fouls before the game was three minutes old, had ten points in 16 minutes. First-year point guard
Liv Cassesse, also saddle with foul trouble, finished with six points, seven rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes.
Eastern visits the University of Southern Maine Saturday in a conference game at 1 p.m., looking for the season sweep. The two teams share third place in the conference.
