Women's Soccer: Warriors Host Beacons in Stiff Little East Conference Test

Team records:
Eastern: Overall: 8-3-2 / Conference: 3-0-1
UMass Boston: Overall: 5-6-3 / Conference: 1-2-1

Game Preview: The Warriors and Beacons will meet for the 37th time in series history on Saturday. The Warriors are seeking their fourth straight LEC win for the first time since 2017, finishing with a 6-0-1 conference that year on their way to their last appearance in the LEC Finals. Last year, UMass Boston scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 65th minute. The Warriors are looking for their first win against UMass since 2022, and second win in the last eight matches against the Beacons. Halfway through the conference season, the Warriors have allowed the fewest goals in conference play (3), and lead the conference in save percentage (.889) and assists (11).

Key matchup: Eastern sophomore goalkeeper Alex Ignatowicz – the LEC Goalkeeper-of-the-Year as a freshman -- leads the LEC in save percentage but will be put to the test, as UMass Boston's Sofia Schallmo leads the conference in shots (34) and tied for the lead in shots on goal (17) in LEC matches.
