WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – After leading the Eastern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team in points, kills and attack attempts for the second straight year, sophomore outside hitter Emma Robinson (Westlake Village, CA) has repeated as a selection to the Little East Conference all-conference team, released today.

A first-team selection in her first season in 2024, Robinson was voted as one of three outside hitters to the second team this year. Junior teammate Brooke Praskievicz (Moodus) was additionally recognized in the LEC season-ending awards program when she was Eastern's appointee to the nine-person Sportsmanship Team.

A total of 14 players were voted irrespective of position to the all-conference team (seven on the first team, seven on the second team). The first team consisted of two outside hitters, two setters, one middle hitter, one defensive specialist and one opposite; the second team consisted of three outside hitters, two setters, a defensive specialist and one middle hitter.

Robinson becomes the fourth Eastern players in 12 years to earn all-conference recognition as both a true freshman and as a sophomore, joining four-time picks Adrianna Mihalek (2013-14), Abby Stern (2017-18) and Anna Barry (2018-19).

This year, the 5-foot-7 inch Robinson exceeded 200 kills for the second straight year. She led the Warriors in kills (215) and attempts (620) and in points (254.5) for the second straight year, ranking tenth in the LEC in kills and points. In addition, she shared third place on the team with 30 service aces, and was third in reception attempts (282) and digs (195).

"Emma had a fantastic sophomore season," noted 12th-year head coach Megan Droesch. "She continues to challenge every part of her game to keep growing. This year we saw big strides in her blocking and defense, complementing her offensive weapons."

Robinson shared the team lead with eight double-doubles, attained on the basis of double-digit kills and digs. Her season-highs came with 17 kills in the second match of the season Aug. 30 against Mount Holyoke College and 18 digs Sept. 13 against the University of New England. She had 11 matches of ten or more kills and ten matches of at least ten digs. Her high of five service aces came Oct. 22 vs. Rhode Island College in a Little East match. In the final regular-season match of the year No. 8 against LEC foe University of southern Maine, Robinson attacked at a season-high .556 with 11 kills and only one error in 18 attempts.

Robinson enters her junior year five kills shy of 500 in her career. She also has 83 service aces, 429 digs and 578 reception attempts.

The 5-foot- 8 inch Praskievicz has been one of the program's most consistent all-around players. A three-year starter, she is the active career leader in kills (531), attempts (1,917), service aces (128) and digs (868) and is second in sets played (268). Like Robinson this past year, Praskievicz had eight double-doubles in kills and digs. She twice had 15 kills and had a career-high 25 digs Sept. 26 in a five-set LEC win at Keene State College. She led the team in service aces (40) and was second to Robinson in points (243) and kills (194) and also second on the team in digs (289), reception percentage (.946) and reception attempts (404).

"Brooke has always been a fierce competitor; it's one of the reasons she stays on the court in tough matchups," observed Droesch. "She is a fantastic teammate and focuses on supporting her team in every challenge they face."

Prior Eastern appointees to the Sportsmanship team in the five-year history of the award were Sadie Blackwell (2024), current junior Maggie Barr (2023), Stacie Kinlen (2022) and Meg Verizzi (2021).

Eastern finished with an overall record of 17-8 and was seeded fourth in the LEC tournament with a 5-3 record after sharing fourth place in the LEC standings. The Warriors raced to a 7-1 record and opened with three straight LEC wins, two coming against rivals Keene State and Western Connecticut. Eastern was 10-7 in its final 17 matches after the 7-1 start and was eliminated at home in the first round of the LEC tournament.
