Jason Mlodzianowski Named Director of Athletics

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut State has announced Jason Mlodzianowski as the school's new Director of Athletics, Eastern Connecticut State University President Dr. Karim Ismalli announced on Monday. (July 6). Mlodzianowski will begin as the Director of Athletics on July 24.

Mlodzianowski joins Eastern Connecticut after spending the last 13 years at Carnegie Mellon University, most recently serving as the Associate Director of Athletics for Events, Facilities and Operations since 2018.

Mlodzianowski began at Carnegie Mellon in 2013 as the Event Manager and Coordinator of Athletics Facilities, before being promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Events, Facilities and Operations in 2016. At Carnegie Mellon, Mlodzianowski was responsible across virtually every aspect of the department's operation, including facilities and event management, capital projects, athletic communications and marketing, external partnerships and revenue generation, and sport administration.

During his time at Carnegie Mellon, Mlodzianowski served as the department's operational leader throughout the planning, construction, and opening of the Highmark Center for Health, Wellness & Athletics. He also helped establish Carnegie Mellon as a nationally recognized host of NCAA championships, overseeing operations for 21 NCAA Championship events across football, soccer, volleyball, and tennis during his tenure. Mlodzianowski also served as sport administrator for the men's and women's golf programs that captured two NCAA national championships.

Prior to CMU, Mlodzianowski spent a year at the University of Missouri as a Game Operations Assistant, where he coordinated game-day operations for 11 athletic teams, led football-game-day parking logistics and supported concourse operations at Mizzou Arena during basketball contests. During his time at Missouri, he served as tournament director for the first round of the 2013 Division I NCAA Women's Soccer Championship and as assistant championship director for the 2013 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Before Missouri, Mlodzianowski served as the Asa S. Bushnell Intern at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), where he focused on organizing Division I, II and III championships. He also gained additional experience in event management at Springfield College and the University of Connecticut Athletics Departments.

Mlodzianowski earned his bachelor's degree in History from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA '07), where he was a four-year letter-winner and served as captain of the Trailblazers men's soccer team. He completed his master's in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in 2014.

Jason and his wife, Stacey, and their son, Shai, look forward to making Eastern Connecticut their home and becoming active members of the Warrior community.
