Forty-Six Little East All-Academic Qualifiers in Spring Swell 12-Year Total to 997

Eastern's All-Time Qualifiers (2007-2019)

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- A total of 46 student-athletes representing all six spring programs qualified for the 2019 Little East Conference Spring All-Academic Team, moving the Eastern athletic program to within three of 1,000 qualifiers in the 12-year history of the conference's all-academic program.

The women's outdoor track & field program (12 qualifiers) and the men's outdoor track & field program (10) combined to produce nearly half of Eastern's total, with senior Haley Knox (Bristol) becoming the 11th Eastern student-athlete in history to earn All-Academic honors for the maximum ninth time. Knox qualified three times in women's cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field in her four-year career.

Joining Knox this academic year as three-season all-academic qualifiers were juniors Hayley Brodeur (Old Saybrook), Maggie Dulak (Northford), Samara Johnson (Lebanon), and sophomore Maxwell Chace (Brooklyn). All four participated in cross country, indoor and outdoor track.

Qualifying for all-academic honors more than once this past year excluding the running programs were juniors Sabrina LeMere (North Branford) and Morgan Sanson (Thomaston). LeMere competed in women's basketball and softball and Sanson field hockey and softball.

In 12 years of the LEC All-Academic program, Eastern has featured 997 qualifiers, 113 of them coming in 2018-19. Including 46 in the spring, 40 representing all six program qualified in the fall and 27 qualified in four of five programs in the winter.
