Justin Black '26 will serve as a student-assistant where he is pursuing a Physical Education degree.
Black played club baseball for the University of Rhode Island where he earned second-team NCBA All-New England Region honors as a freshman starting pitcher before transferring to Eastern in the fall of 2023.
Black’s high school career at Oxford (CT) was full of accolades in both baseball and football. As a senior in baseball, he was named to the All-Naugatuck Valley League Cooper Team and pitched his team to the state semifinals as well as playing third base and hitting clean up. He was the team’s MVP with a 9-2 record, 3.34 ERA, .396 BA and .520 OBP. He was also All-NVL Cooper in football and named the team’s Defensive Player and Outstanding Student Athlete. In addition, he was selected as a scholar athlete of the New Haven Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
The Oxford native coached at the AAU level with Diamond Zone this past summer, where he has been working with their staff.
