
Erika Profenno returns to the staff of 11th-year head coach Christine Hutchison for her fourth season.
With Profenno, the program has improved each season, with the 2015 unit setting numerous season records and advancing to its first Little East Conference playoff championship match
A first-team All-Little East Conference defender in both of her seasons as a player at Eastern, Profenno returned to Eastern in 2013 after spending the previous six seasons as head field hockey coach at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Conn.
Profenno’s teams at Barlow featured six All-State selections, one Academic All-State selection, 22 All-Southwest Conference and 15 All-Division picks.
A native of South Portland, Maine, Profenno appeared in 72 collegiate field hockey matches in her four-year career. The program’s last two-time first-team All-LEC pick, Profenno started 35 of 36 matches with five goals and five assists at Eastern in 2004 and 2005, serving as a team captain as a senior.
In 2001 and 2002, Profenno appeared in 36 matches with 18 starts at the University of Southern Maine, where she helped the Huskies to an overall record of 28-17 (15-5 in the LEC) and two berths in the ECAC New England Division III Tournament.
Profenno holds a B.S. Degree in Sport & Leisure Management from Eastern.
