Returning to the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball coaching staff is associate head coach Jason Harlow, who brings  30+ years of coaching experience into his seventh season with the program in 2024/25.

A Thomaston native, Harlow was formerly the interim head men’s basketball coach at Western Connecticut State University for two seasons from 2016-2018. Prior to that he was assistant head coach at Western for three seasons from 2013-16.

As Western’s two-year interim head coach, Harlow compiled an overall of 26-25, 12-16 in the Little East conference. After qualifying for the Little East tournament as the No. 8 seed in his first year, Harlow led the Colonies to the No. 4 seed in 2017-18 and a spot in the tournament semifinals.  

Prior to joining the Western Connecticut coaching staff, Harlow served as assistant men’s basketball coach at Trinity College in 2012-13.  

Prior to moving into the collegiate ranks, Harlow was the varsity boys’ basketball coach at Litchfield High School from 2003-2012. He also founded and ran The Cowboy Way Basketball Camps in Litchfield from 2007-2011. After leaving Litchfield, he took over at Thomaston High School from 2001-2003. Prior to that, Harlow was assistant varsity basketball coach at Wamogo High School in Litchfield from 1996-2001.

At Litchfield, Harlow compiled a nine-year record of 135-69 and won three league championships and two league tournament championships and reached five league tournament championship game appearances. His teams qualified for the state tournament seven times.

Also with the Cowboys, Harlow’s team featured four All-State players and one academic All-Stater. In 2008, he coached the Connecticut Senior All-Star Game.

In addition to his basketball coaching duties, Harlow serves as the department's unofficial baseball historian.
