Long-time running and cycling enthusiast  John Hankins returns to the cross country staff, this year under new head coach David Nicholson.

 Hankins was a member of the outstanding E.O. Smith High School running program in the mid-70s and went on to a four-year career at perenniel national cross country power Carleton College, where the squad won the 1980 Division III national championship. At Carleton, he was also a member of the outdoor track & field and nordic ski team programs.

Hankins has run upwards of 40 marathons and is a four-time finisher at the Boston Marathon. Ten times, he has completed the Mt. Washington Road Race.

Hankins holds a B.A. Degree in geology from Carleton College and an M.S. in geology from the University of Connecticut and resides in Mansfield Center.
