Former four-year letterwinner and 2016 captain Liam Murphy will assist head coach Brian Tilley in 2016.
A native of Dover, NH, Murphy will work with the offense in 2017.
"Being a player for us and now a coach and being a first-team all-conference guy, Liam has been specifically targeting the offense (in practice) -- an area that we identified needing to focus on to get better, given what we had graduated (in 2016)," says Tilley.
A member of a Little East Conference playoff championship team at Eastern, Murphy blossomed into one of the club's top offensive players in 2016, posting individual career-highs in goals (30), points (38) and assists (8) and earning first-team All-LEC honors and being named to the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game.
In 2016, Murphy contributed at least one goal in all but two games, turning it on down the stretch with 22 goals and six assists over the final nine matches of his career. Murphy had six goals in two matches against eventual champion Keene State.
Murphy earned his B.S. Degree in Sport & Leisure Studies with a minor in Communication in May of 2016.
