Maxim Fantl enters his first year on the staff of head coach Greg DeVito.
Fantl never missed a match in a four-year, 83-game career between 2006 and 2009 -- starting all but one over his final three seasons -- and helping the Warriors compile an overall record of 49-21-13. Fantl played three seasons under DeVito, the Warriors compiling a 15-3-3 Little East Conference regular-season record under the current head coach, and winning two regular-season titles and their first two LEC playoff championships.
A two-time team captain, Fantl led the team in points and goals each season, finishing his career with 49 goals, 20 assists, and 118 points (third all-time in program history). Fantl was a three-time All-New England Region selection (twice named to the first team), four-time All-LEC selection (three times named first team), two-time LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Year, and LEC Rookie-of-the-Year. Also a four-year member of the lacrosse program, the West Hartford native capped his soccer career in 2009 as the ECAC New England Division III Player-of-the-Year and as the CJSA Ed Tremble Player-of-the-Year Award recipient.
Off the field, Fantl earned an E-Club Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award in both seasons of eligibility and qualified for the LEC All-Academic Team in all three years of eligibility. As a senior, he earned first-team NSCAA Scholar All-America and second-team CoSIDA All-District distinction and remains the only student-athlete to be named Eastern Male Athlete-of-the-Year and Geissler Senior Male SportsPerson-of-the-Year Award in the same year.
Fantl graduated with a B.S. Degree in Health and Physical Education from Eastern and earned his M.A. in Education from Castleton University in 2014. He resides in his hometown of West Hartford with wife Sumi.
