Steven Cusano joined the staff of head coach Sarit Gluz in 2022/23, bringing with him a vast amount of swimming and coaching experience.
A Plainville native, Cusano is currently serving for the seventh season as head coach of the USA Swimming's Cougar Aquatics boys' and girls' team out of Higganum and for the fifth year as Minniechaug Makos boys' and girls' swim team out of Glastonbury. Prior to that, he also coached at Newtown High School and with the Farmington Valley swim team and for the Wethersfield Parks & Recreation.Â
Cussano swam under Randy Doucette as a sprint freestyler and backstroker at three-time Northeast 10 Conference champion Division II Southern Connecticut State University, where he served as a team captain and earned All-NE 10 honors.
Cusano earned his B.S. Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies at Southern with a concentration in Sport Management and resides in Middletown.
