Mark Correia
Mark Correia brings 17 years of softball coaching experience to his current position as a fifth-year assistant coach and hitting coach under head coach Diana Pepin.

Correia’s primary responsibilities include hitting preparation, outfield defense and handling the first base coaching duties. In addition, he assists Pepin with practice planning, game-day execution, recruiting and fund-raising.

Since Correia joined the Warriors staff, the team has a record of 87-39 (.690 winning percentage), winning  Little East Conference tournament championships in 2019 and 2021 and finishing third in the country in 2019 and being an integral part of the staff which was recognized as the New England Region Coaching Staff of the Year that season.

The Warriors led the Little East in hitting (by over 50 percentage points) in 2021 while finishing in the Top Ten in the country in seven major offensive categories. In 2022, returning All-America Cassie Woods cited Correia as “the best hitting coach in the country” after leading the Little East in batting (.538) and on-base percentage (.611). Moreover, Eastern hitters were ranked 1-through-4 in the conference in slugging last year and had four of the top six batting averages.

A resident of West Greenwich, RI, Correia served as head coach of the Connecticut Bombers (North Franklin, CT) for 12 seasons -- coaching youngsters between the ages of 14 and 18 -- and as an assistant coach at Bacon Academy in Colchester for eight years prior to joining the Eastern staff.

In his coaching career, Correia has helped send more than 20 youngsters to the college ranks. Correia is a student of the game, achieving the level of “Endorsed Hitting Coach” and holding a 1-Star Certification through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). In addition, he is a certified mental performance coach through Brian Cain Peak Performance.

A New Bedford, MA native, Correia played four years of football under Walt Nadzak at the University of Connecticut (1979-82), helping the Huskies to a share of the Yankee Conference championship as a senior. Correia is a member of the New Bedford High School football and all-sports Halls of Fame and served as an ice hockey official for ten years. He holds a degree in education and sports marketing from UConn.
