Year: 13th Season / 113-102
Previous College: U. of Mary Washington '00

In 2018, head coach Christine Hutchison led the program to its 12th season of at least ten victories en route to coaching her 200th contest -- a 14-11 win over Whitman College on March 13 at Port Charlotte, FL. The season culminated in a berth in the Little East Conference playoff championship game for the 12th time in 17 years.

  • In 2017, Hutchison began her second decade as head coach in impressive fashion by leading the Warriors to their fifth perfect (6-0) Little East Conference regular season under her watch and into the LEC playoff final for the 11th time in program history and earning LEC Coach-of-the-Year recognition for the second straight year and fifth time overall.

In the process of directing Eastern to equalling its second-most overall wins (14) in program history -- only the 2002 ECAC New England champions winning (one) more -- Hutchison chalked up her 100th career coaching victory, and her 50th win in LEC regular-season play against only 66 losses (.758 percent), The 2017 squad lost as many as two matches in a row only once, and put together winning streak of six and five. Four of the team's five losses came by a combined total of six goals

Hutchison, who has also coached field hockey at Eastern for 13  seasons, engineered the biggest turnaround in the first 21 years of lacrosse at Eastern in 2016. Coming off a disappointing four-win campaign in 2015, the Warriors reached double figures in overall wins for the tenth time in 2016, when they finished 11-6. The team gained a share of the LEC regular-season title with an overtime victory over Keene State College on the final day of the regular season.  The triumph over Keene capped a ten-game run which produced nine victories over the final six weeks of the season, with the loss coming by one goal on the road.

Following a disappointing regular season in 2013, the Warriors found their stride in post-season play, fifth-seeded Eastern winning over three higher seeds on the home field of the higher seeds to claim its third playoff crown and qualify for the program's fourth NCAA tournament.

Prior to the magical 2013 run, the Warriors advanced to the LEC playoff final in each of Hutchison's first five years, winning twice and qualifying automatically for the NCAA tournament.

Hutchison took over as the winningest coach in program history with the team's second victory of 2013 -- a 15-8 non-conference victory over Salve Regina University at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex. She also ranks first in years of service has head coach with the program and first in matches coached (197). Three of the program's four LEC playoff titles in 15 years of conference competition have also come under her stewardship.

In 12 years, Hutchison has had four players named to the national IWLCA Farewell Lacrosse Festival, three selections to the IWLCA All-Region Team, ten LEC Players-of-the-Year, three LEC Rookies-of-the-Year, 60 All-LEC selections, 48 LEC All-Academic quaifiers, one Eastern Female Athlete-of-the-Year, four Eastern Rookie-of-the-Year selections and 34 E-Club Scholar-Athlete qualifiers.

As a collegian, the Stonington native played four seasons (1996-1999) of field hockey at Division III University of Mary Washington, where she was named to the STX/NFHCA Division III All-South Region team and to the NFHCA  North-South Senior All-Star Game as a senior midfielder in 1999. At Mary Washington, Hutchison was also a two-time, first-team all-Capital Athletic Conference all-star and graduated  as the program’s all-team leader with 24 assists.  As a senior captain in the fall of 1999, Hutchison led the team in points (26) and assists (12).

Hutchison holds a B.S. Degree in  Math from Mary Washington and earned her M.S. in Organizational Management from Eastern in 2013.

Hutchison and husband Joe reside in Preston with their four children.
