Kristin Ventresca joined the staff in 2020-21 as an assistant coach under head coach Dee Stephan.
Ventresca joined the Eastern program from Montville High School, where she began the girls’ and boys’ programs as club sports in 2013 and has served as head coach of the girls’ program since it was elevated to varsity status in 2014. In the varsity team’s third year in 2016, Ventresca led it to an Eastern Connecticut Conference regular-season divisional title, then repeated that feat in 2019 with a perfect 10-0 divisional record. Between 2015 and 2019, the team qualified for four CIAC Class ‘S’ tournaments.
In addition to beginning the high school programs, the DeWitt, NY native and Oakdale resident was a founding member of the Montville Youth Lacrosse organization for boys and girls in 2011, serving as a president for the first six years and as a coach for four.
Ventresca holds a US Lacrosse Level 3 coaching certificate.
Raised in a lacrosse family, Ventresca’s first cousin, Andy Shay, played collegiately as an all-league defenseman at Le Moyne College and has served as head men’s lacrosse at Yale University since 2004, leading the Bulldogs to the 2018 national title. Ventresca’s brother, Matt, also played at Le Moyne.
Kristin and husband, John – the current president of Montville Youth Lacrosse -- have four children: Shay, Sean, Liam and Jack, all of whom play lacrosse. Shay is entering her third season at Eastern in 2023 and Sean is a second-year player in the men's lacrosse program.
Ventresca graduated with a B.S. Degree in Communication and Computer Science from Marist College.
