Michael Krajewski joins the women’s swimming coaching staff as an assistant coach under head coach Maureen Fahey.
Krajewski joins the staff with an ample amount of experience coaching swimming. Prior to joining the Eastern staff, he was a senior swim coach at the Mandell JCC Sharks in West Hartford. In that position, the JCC Sharks placed third in the 2013 LC Age Group championship. He is currently the aquatics manager at the YMCA in downtown Hartford.
From 2007 to 2013, the North Branford native served as the head swim coach for the Cougar Aquatic Swimming in Higganum. In that capacity, he was responsible for all aspects of the USA swim team. While he was head coach the program increased participation by 400%, going from 20 swimmers to over 80.
Upon graduating from college, Krajewski was named head girls’ swim coach at Newington High School, leading the squad to a 9-3-1 record having a relay qualify for the State Open after inheriting a team which was 2-11 the season prior.
Krajewski, who resides in Hebron, graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 with a B.A. in Exercise Science. He is a member to the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA).
