Dawn Hubbell-Fiondella returns to the staff of head coach David Nicholson as an assistant cross country and track & field coach.
Hubbell-Fiondella spent three years (2019-21) as assistant cross country and track & field coach under head coach Eric Blake at her alma mater, Central Connecticut State University, following a standout cross country and track & field career. In cross country at Central, Hubbell-Fiondella was a three-time All-Northeast Conference performer at the Division I institution, helping the Blue Devils to the 2018 NEC championship as an athlete and to conference championships in all three of her seasons as an assistant women's coach and in the 2021 season as a men's assistant coach.
In track & field, Hubbell-Fiondella enjoyed a distinguished career which included winning the NEC 5000 meter indoor championship both indoor and outdoor as a senior captain in 2019, and earning the title as the Distance Athlete of the NEC Championships outdoors for the champion Blue Devils, and setting the program's 5000 meter record that year. In sparking Central to its first women's outdoor NEC title in 2019, Hubbell-Fiondella keyed the one-point victory with her win at 5000 meters, second-place performance at 10,000 meters and with the third-place 4x800 meter relay.
As an assistant coach in 2021-22, Hubbell-Fiondella helped the program win the NEC women's indoor championship
A native of North Haven, Hubbell-Fiondella earned a B.S. Degree in Biology from Central in 2019 and an M.S. in Sports Administration from Canisius College in 2021.
