Kyle Sylvester returns for his fourth year as the Hitting and Infield Coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Head Coach, Mike Odenwaelder. In his first three years, the Warriors have accumulated a 84-43 record and his offense has averaged 7.91 RPG, a .306 BA, a .403 OBP and an .871 OPS. This was highlighted by the 2025 season where his offense amassed a .323 BA, scoring 8.8 RPG while ranking 1st in the Little East Conference in BA, RPG, Hits, 2B, HR, RBI, TB, SLG%, BB, OBP and SF. Sylvester has coached 13 All-LEC selections, 1 NCWBA National Rookie of the Week, 4 D3baseball.com Team of the Week Honorees, 6 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selections, 1 D3baseball.com All-Region selection and 1 ABCA/Rawlings All-American selection.

In the summers of 2024-2026, Sylvester has been an assistant coach for the Harwich Mariners in the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he coached several MLB Draft picks. He helped Harwich win their first league Championship since 2008 in the 2024 season; again helping them in 2026 to another Cape League Title (2 in a 3 year span). His responsibilities include outfield defense and positioning in game, First Base Coach, working with hitters, running early hitting sessions, communicating hitter reports with players, throwing pregame BP and preparing the playing surface at Whitehouse Field. 

Prior to Eastern Connecticut, Sylvester was the Head Coach of the Hanover Senior American Legion Baseball Team in his hometown of Hanover (MA) for two summers (2022, 2023). In his first year, Sylvester led Hanover to the District 10 Finals; the second time in town history and the first since 2008. In the same season, he was nominated to coach the South Region at the MA Legion All-Star Game. 

Sylvester’s playing career consisted of five years as a utility infielder (1B,SS,3B) at Division III Wesleyan University (CT). As a three-year starter, he played in 82 career collegiate games, starting in 80. In his graduate year, Sylvester slashed .328/.411/.500 with 44 hits, including 3 HR and 32 RBI in 36 games; with a .996 fielding percentage. He was selected captain in both his senior and graduate seasons, winning the MacNaughten award as a graduate student; an award given annually for outstanding baseball achievement. His five year career consisted of a Little 3 Championship and winning the NESCAC West Division in the regular season of 2023. Off the field, Sylvester earned both NESCAC All-Academic Team and Scholar Athlete Honors twice (2022 & 2023). 

Sylvester holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Chemistry from Wesleyan.
