In the third, Martin swatted a three-run home run and Brett a two-run homer to back the complete-game pitching of junior Erin Miller (Waterford), who won her first game of the season – 15th of her career. Miller spaced four hits while fanning six and walking two.
Junior Sam Rossetti (Shelton) and Martin each had three hits and four RBI, Rossetti doubling twice. Brett had two hits and also reached on a walk.
Carroll, which features 12 freshmen and sophomores on its roster, has lost five straight.
