Box Score PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Eastern Connecticut State University women's basketball team scored 28 points by forcing 21 turnovers in a 78-49 Little East Conference victory over Plymouth State University Saturday afternoon that kept the Warriors one game off the pace in the race for the conference's regular-season title.
Leading by 12 points four minutes into the second half, Eastern (13-6, 7-2 LEC) ran off 14 consecutive points over six minutes – the Warriors forcing five turnovers and Plymouth (6-12, 0-9 LEC) missing five shots – and took a 26-point, 58-32 lead into the final nine minutes.
Twelve players saw time for Eastern, with four scoring in double figures. Sophomore center Lindsay Langenauer (Cromwell) had eight points and a game-high nine rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench. Sophomore guard Jordyn Nappi (Southington) led all players in the game with 14 points in 24 minutes off the bench, junior forward Jill Ritrosky (Pittsfield, MA) adding 13 points and eight rebounds and senior guard Kristina Forsman (Newington) and junior center Erin Brooks (Billerica, MA) each scoring 11 points.
Langenauer sparked the 14-0 surge with a pair of inside buckets, senior guard Taylor McBride (Willimantic) converted two drives to the basket and Nappi sank one of her three three-pointers in that stretch.
The win is the 24th in the last 25 meetings for Eastern with Plymouth State. The Warriors have won seven of their last eight and the hosts have lost seven in a row.
Eastern hosts Connecticut College in a non-conference game Tuesday at 7 p.m.
