Baseball: Muchin Solid Again, but Warriors Shut Down by Rutgers-Camden, 4-2

Rutgers University-Camden junior righty Ian Scheidemann outdueled Eastern Connecticut State University junior righty Jordan Muchin (West Hartford) as the Raptors broke a tie with two runs in the bottom of the eighth in a 4-2 victory Friday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park. 

Muchin (0-1), who pitched a three-hitter for seven innings without a decision in Monday's opener, allowed only two earned runs on ten hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks over 7 1/3 innings Friday for Eastern (3-3).

Scheidemann pitched his second complete game in three starts for Rutgers (5-5), spacing three hits and giving up only one earned run. He fanned five and walked two.

Eastern senior D.J. Scavone (Auburn, MA) hit a two-out solo home run for Eastern that gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead in the fourth.

Eastern faces St. Norbert College Saturday at 11 a.m.
