DANBURY, Conn. –  The Eastern Connecticut State University men's golf team commanded the top four spots – led by medalist 
Jack Wallace (Winthrop, MA) – and closed out its fall season with a 334-403 victory over Western Connecticut State University Tuesday at Richter Golf Course.
 
One day after finishing seventh at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at Brewster, MA, Eastern closed a second intercollegiate season with a 2-0 record in dual matches, titles at all three of its invitational tournaments and the championship of the first official Little East Conference Championship 11 days ago at Castleton, VT.
 
After the demanding two-day NEIGA Championship, none of Eastern's five NEIGA participants competed Tuesday. A graduate transfer, Wallace shot 6-over-par 78 against WestConn, with sophomore 
Michael Hamill (Newington) and first-year player 
Ryan Silva (Windham, ME) both 13-over, sophomore 
Ethan Tessman (Clinton) 14-over and senior 
Jarrett Soltis (New Hartford) 21-over.
 
This year, sophomore 
Ashton Lewis (Fairfield) earned Little East Player-of-the-Year and Rookie-of-the-Year honors for winning the LEC Championship, and second-year head coach 
Chris Wojick was voted Coach-of-the-Year.
