WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Eleven different individuals won at least one individual event as the Eastern Connecticut State University women's and men's swim teams swept Husson University Saturday morning at the Sports Center pool.
Led by triple winner
Kerry-Rose Buchanan (Southington) and double winners
Lindsay Weaver (Newington) and
Allison Ronan (Northbridge, MA), the women improved their dual-meet record to 2-1 with a 162-96 victory.
The men improved to 2-0 in dual meets this, with sophomore
Connor Scully (Oxford) winning three individual events and first-year swimmers
Joseph Sylvester (Morris),
Ben D'Addario (Fairfield) and
Connor Rego (Winsted) each winning two individual events.
Buchanan won the 100, 500 and 1,650 freestyle events, Weaver the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and Ronan the 200 backstroke and 400 individual medley. Scully won the 200 freestyle and the 100 and 200 breaststroke, Sylvester the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle, D'Addario the 50 freestyle in a record time of 23.31and 100 butterfly and Rego the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley in a record time of 4:48.27.
D'Addario also set a record of 51.45 in a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle.
Ronan and Cox also contributed on the winning 200 medley relay and Buchanan and Weaver on the winning 200 freestyle relay and Sylvester and D'Addario on the winning 200 freestyle relay.
Eastern competes at Plymouth State University Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.
