BANGOR, Me. – Six Eastern Connecticut State University men's swimmers combined to win three individual events and place second in nine  when the Warriors dropped a 172-110 dual-meet decision to Husson University Saturday afternoon at Webber Pool. Twenty-two of Husson's points came in two diving events (Eastern does not sponsor diving).

Connor Scully (Oxford), sophomore 
Connor Rego (Winsted) and first-year swimmer 
Sam Hurlburt (Meriden) all captured individual events for Eastern (1-2), with the 400 freestyle relay of junior 
Nathan Melia (Manchester), Scully and sophomores 
Joseph Sylvester (Morris) and 
Ben D'Addario (Fairfield) combining to win the 400 freestyle in the second-fastest time (3:31.97) in program history.
 
Scully won the 200 breaststroke (2:25.98), Rego the 200 butterfly (2:05.92) and Hurlburt the 100 breaststroke (1:05.91), while Melia broke his own program record in a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:11.90. Rego also took two seconds, with his time of 1:00.97 in the 100 individual medley .01 seconds off his own program record. D'Addario captured three second-place finishes, with Hurlburt, Scully, Melia and Sylvester each placing second once, as did the 200 medley relay team of Sylvester, Hurlburt, Rego and Melia.
 
Rego led the Warriors by amassing 17 points in his three individual events, Hurlburt 16 with his first, second and third-place finishes, Scully 15 with a first, second and fourth, and D'Addario with 12 with his three seconds.
 
Other point totals included Hurlburt, Melia and Sylvester with seven each, junior 
Elliot Anderson (Goffstown, NH) with six, junior 
Jae Pinilla-O'Dea (Madison) with four, junior 
Drew Cavar (Vernon) and first-year swimmer 
James Bragg-Phillips (Stratford) three each and sophomore 
Jared Tofil (East Hartford) and first-year swimmers 
Deagan Granville (Newtown) and
 Uzair Bhura (East Hartford) with one each.
 
Eastern opens its home season Saturday at noon, hosting Western New England University and Plymouth State University, and participates in the Connecticut Cup Dec. 2-3 at Wesleyan University that closes out the first semester.
