Allison Ronan (Northbridge, MA) each won three individual events and swam a leg of a winning relay for the Eastern Connecticut State University women's swim team and first-year swimmer Â
Connor Rego (Winsted) broke two records and classmate
Joseph Sylvester (Morris) one for the men as the Warriors closed out the regular season hosting Bridgewater State University and Gordon College Saturday afternoon at the Sports Center pool.

The meet was the final tuneup for the three-day (Feb. 20-22) Little East Conference Championships at the Boston Sports Institute.

Prior to the meet, Eastern honored its four outgoing seniors: Buchanan,
Elisabeth Graves (Norwich) and
Vanessa Streb (Warwick, RI) from the women's program and
PJ Jiménez (Meriden) from the men's program.

Closing out the regular season under third-year head coach
Sarit Gluz, the women (7-3) defeated Bridgewater (166-94) and Gordon (194-62) while the men (5-3) closed out their third regular season on the intercollegiate level by defeating Gordon (186-26) and losing to Bridgewater (137-122). The Bridgewater men are 4-4 and the women 3-7 while the Gordon men are 0-6 and the Gordon women 0-7.

Buchanan won the 100 (58.89), 500 (5:48.63) and 1000 freestyle (11:45.65) events, using a finishing kick to edge Olivia Ranck (5:48.85) in the 500 and winning the 1000 for the third straight time with a 66-second win over Olivia Pelletier of Bridgewater; Ronan captured the 200 freestyle (2:09.96) for the first time this season, 100 backstroke (1:06.15) for the third time in 2021-22, and 200 individual medley (2:24.72) for the third time in four tries this year. Ronan also swam the opening backstroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay which opened the meet and Buchanan was the lead on the winning 200 freestyle relay which closed the women's meet.

Other top performers for the women were sophomore
Kelly Schneider (Portland), who won the 50 freestyle (27.95) for the second time in her last two tries. Schneider was also second in the 50 backstroke (31.28) and swam the opening backstroke leg of the 200 medley relay which was second. Sophomore
Nancy Scanlon (West Hartford) added a first and two seconds and swam the butterfly leg of the second-place 200 medley relay. Scanlon claimed the 100 butterfly (1:03.93) for the first time since the opening meet of the season and was second in the 50 butterfly (29.39) and second in the 200 IM (2:28.38).

Paige Cox (Glastonbury) chipped in two thirds for the women in the 50 (36.82) and 100 (1:21.32) breaststroke.

The Eastern men led Bridgewater by three points with two events remaining but the Bears went 1-3 in the 200 IM and 200 freestyle relay to pull out the 15-point win.

Rego, Sylvester, and classmate
Ben D'Addario (Fairfield) and sophomore
Nathan Melia (Manchester) all won two events for the men and swam on one relay which placed second. Rego won the 50 butterfly in a program-record time of 25.36 and was second in the 200 IM in a program-record time of 2:10.83. Sylvester broke his own record of 11:12.25 with a winning effort of 11:08.41 in the 1000 freestyle, his second win at that distance in two tries.

Sylvester was also first in the 500 freestyle (5:16.21) – winning the event for the third time this year to go along with three seconds. In addition to the 50 butterfly, Rego won the 100 butterfly (55.61) for the fourth time in six attempts. D'Addario was first in the 50 (23.25) for the third time this year and 200 freestyle (1:53.09) for the third time in four attempts and Melia was the individual winner in the 50 (27.86) for the and 100 (59.92) backstroke, both for the third time in the last four tries.

Sophomore
Connor Scully (Oxford) swam the breaststroke leg of the second-place 200 medley relay and was also second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.53) and added thirds in the 200 freestyle (1:58.85) and 50 breaststroke (30.87).
