Men's Soccer: Warriors Remain Unbeaten on the Road, Rolls Past Rams

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Despite playing its fourth game in the first eight days of the season, the Eastern Connecticut State University men's soccer team remained undefeated on the road Saturday and posted its first win this year with a 4-1 non-conference victory over Framingham State University at Maple Street Field.
 
Against Framingham (1-2-1), Eastern (1-1-2) rolled to its sixth win without a loss in the series, its fourth under current head coach Greg DeVito.
 
Making his first start of the season (second appearance), sophomore keeper Nathan Yeich (Willington) was credited with his first victory of 2022. Yeich was credited with ten saves and got support as six different players contributed a goal or assist.
 
Senior Ryan Sirois (Tolland) and sophomore Logan Brennan (Farmington) evenly split Eastern's four goals, with senior Larson Richards (Mansfield), sophomore Ryan Toomey (Willington) and Walter Scudder (Unionville) and first-year player Cayden Boukus (Mansfield) all contributing assists. It was the first collegiate point for Boukus and first career point and first appearance of the season for Toomey.
 
Brennan staked the Warriors to a quick lead in the seventh minute. In a span of 90 seconds midway through the first half, Sirois knocked in his first goal of the year and Brennan his second of the half as Eastern moved out to a 3-0 lead.
 
Eastern visits Mitchell College Wednesday at 3 p.m. and the defending Little East Conference regular-season and tournament champions open conference with by hosting the University of Massachusetts Boston next Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern is ranked first in the LEC pre-season poll, UMass Boston third.
