MANSFIELD, Conn.- The Eastern Connecticut State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams dominated the annual outdoor invitational under new head Coach David Nicholson Friday at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex. The invite was re-named the Bonnie Edmondson Classic this year in honor of the former Eastern track & field All-America, Olympian and Alumni Hall of Famer.

In an eight-team field, the women overcame UMass Boston's early surge to post a 226.5-93 victory over the runner-up Beacons while the men won the two-team race among eight competing teams with a 242-186 win over runner-up Nichols College.

Prior to the running events, the program honored its outgoing seniors and graduate students:
Collin Wiltshire (Ledyard), Jill McGahan (Dedham, MA), Keara Fontaine (North Kingstown, RI), Kelsey Zator (Scotland), Mackenzie Dunn (Middletown), Daniela Morales (West Haven), Cory Bill (Mansfield), Tyler Wright (Westport), Ryan Escoda (Newtown) and Wendie Stewart (Hartford).

Eastern competes at the Little East Conference Championships Saturday, April 29 at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Ryan Escoda broke his own personal and facility record in the 3000 meters by 12 seconds with a winning time of 8:55.07, edging Colin Slavin of the UConn club team (8:56.06), who was running on an exhibition basis. The time was the fastest in the LEC this year.

Tyler Wright (9:11.22) and
Michael Parzych (9:23.02) ran the second and third-fastest 3000 meters this year in the LEC. The Warriors have posted eight of the top nine fastest 3000 meters in the conference this season.

Kaito Yasuda (11.05) ran the thiird-fastest 100 meters in the LEC this year, tying his personal best.
- The 4x100 relay ran the third-fastest time in the LEC this year (42.77). Runners were

Conor Hennessy threw the javelin 174-3 -- his career-best by 15 feet. It was the third-farthest throw in the LEC this year

Wendie Stewart, who recorded 28 points in three throwing events, moved closer to Bonnie Edmondson's 1987 outdoor record of 42-9  in the shot with a PR of 42-2. It was the second-longest throw in the LEC this year. Stewart had PR'd last week at Connecticut College with a mark of 41- 3 ¼.

Jill McGahan's PR of 11:46.35 in the 3000 meters was her career best by 40 seconds and was the second-fastest in the LEC this year.
- The 4x100 relay was timed in 51.35 -- the second-fastest in the conference this year. Runners were

- Competing in the pole vault for the fourth time, two-sport athlete
Natasha Frisch posted a PR of 9-0 1/4, which was the fourth-best in the LEC this year behind three athletes from the University of Southern Maine, which has an indoor facility.

Analiese Poisson registered a PR of 1:17.99 in the 400 hurdles -- the fifth-best time this year in the conference.
