BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Eastern Connecticut State University senior All-America
Ashton Lewis (Fairfield) shot a 3-under 141 over 36 holes to finish second by a stroke as the top New England finisher at the Bowdoin College Invitational Sept. 23-24 at the Brunswick Golf Club.
In a field of 110 individuals, the team co-captain was tied for fourth with a 2-under 70 after 18 holes. On Sunday, his 71 equalled the fourth-best score of the afternoon. Joymuth Luangtana-anan of NYU shot 5-under 67 on Sunday to earn medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 4-under 140. Luangtana-anan had shot 1-over 73 on the first day.

Matthew Orefice (Niantic) and sophomore
Jake Napolitan (Agawam, MA), who shared 31
st place with identical 8-over 152s. Eastern's fifth player, sophomore
Nick DiNino (Glastonbury) was tied for 80
th at 18-over 162.
After sharing fifth place as a team after 18 holes, Eastern finished in that spot at +21 in the field of 22 teams. The Warriors finished in a tie for third among New England institutions behind team champion Trinity College and Amherst College, sharing fifth place overall with Endicott College.
Eastern shoots for its third straight Little East Conference championship Oct. 5-6 at the Riverside Golf Course in Portland, ME.
