At the season-opening Adelphi University Panther Invitational, the sophomore led three Eastern runners among the top 15 with a ninth-place finish (eighth among scorers) – first among Division III competitors -- among 98 finishers as the Warriors placed fourth among 13 full teams – the majority of them Division II entries. Georgescu was timed in 19:58 over 5,000 meters (6:26 pace). As one of two first-year runners last year, Georgescu was a top five runner all year and earned second-team All-Little East Conference honors with a 14^th-place finish in a field of 71 finishers at the LEC Championships and was the team's No. 5 finisher (122^nd overall) in a field of 159 at the NCAA Mideast Regionals at St. Lawrence University.
