DANBURY, Conn- Eastern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team was defeated by Western Connecticut State University in four sets in a Little EastConference matchup Wednesday evening at Feldman Arena. This is their first conference loss this season. Set scores for the day were 21-25, 15-25, 25-18, and 19-25. The Warriors battled back to take the third set after the first two were dominated by the Wolves.

Both teams had come into the game looking to start a new win streak. The Warriors (11-8, 4-1) had dropped their last two games both at home. WestConn (14-9, 3-2) wascoming off a three-set loss to University of Massachusetts Dartmouth last Saturday.

Bella Johnson (Marlborough) with 9 kills and 9 digs,while sophomore
Maggie Barr (Easthampton, MA) chipped in 7 kills and 3 blocks. First year

Liz Squier (Trevor, WI) had 26 assists.

WestConn graduate student Olivia Monteleone leads the conference in assists with 800 total and had 18 in the first two sets before leaving the game to injury. Senior Helen Megson is third in LEC in kills with 248. She had 3 blocks and 10 kills on the day.

Emma Robinson (Westlake Village, CA) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week for her second consecutive time (third total) after 15 kills and 13 digs in the Warriors five-set home loss to Connecticut College last Wednesday. She also had seven service aces that day. Robinson is fourth in the conference for kills with a total of 222. She leads the Warriors in kills and service aces.

Eastern travels to Plymouth State University (19-2, 5-0) for an in-conference game against the top ranked Panthers Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Foley Gymnasium.
