CASTLETON, Vt. – The Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team got goals from seven different players in rolling up a 12-goal halftime lead and remained undefeated in the Little East Conference with a 17-4 victory over VTSU Castleton Saturday morning at Dave Wolk Stadium.
Since losing three straight, Eastern (6-6, 3-0 LEC) has alternated wins and losses, with the victory over Castleton (2-10, 1-3 LEC) pushing the Warriors record on their opponents' home field to 4-3. The Warriors remain atop the LEC standings with Western Connecticut (8-5, 3-0 LEC), which trimmed homestanding Keene State College, 11-8, Saturday.

Grace Saldaña (Colchester) and
Neely Hart (Colchester) all recorded their first goals at Eastern, while senior
Kaylee Drobish (Wallingford) exceeded the 100-career point plateau with her 13
th goal of the year with 36 seconds left in the first quarter. Drobish won five draws to improve her team-leading total to 46 and added three caused turnovers, as did junior
Claire Riccitelli-Pestana (Wallingford).
Seniors
Jessie Pyrek-Bennett (Monroe) and sophomores
Alexa Vizzini (Vernon, NJ) and
Sydney Goyette (Westfield, MA) combined for ten goals. Pyrek-Bennett had four goals and Vizzini and Goyette three each. Senior goalie
Mackenzie Brown (Southington) shut out the Spartans in the first half, making four saves and leaving with a 12-0 lead after one half.
Eastern closes the regular season with four Little East contests – three at home – prior to the start of LEC playoff competition April 30. The Warriors host Rhode Island College (2-9, 0-3 LEC) Tuesday at 5 p.m.and the University of Southern Maine (3-5, 0-2 LEC) Friday at 5 p.m., visit Western Connecticut (8-5, 3-0 LEC) April 24 and host Keene State (7-4, 2-1 LEC) April 27.
