Box Score
KEENE, N.H. – Returning to the Little East Conference semifinals for the first time in six years, the third-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team ended its first season under head coach Devyne Doran '17 with a 16-8 loss at second-seeded Keene State College Thursday evening at  the Owl Athletic Complex.

Coming off its first LEC playoff win since 2018, Eastern (9-9) managed only two goals on nine shots in the second half Thursday after battling Keene (12-5) in the first half and trailing by five, 11-6.

Down by four goals after one quarter, Eastern scored three goals in a span of six minutes in the second quarter to pull to within three goals (9-6) before the hosts regained the edge by closing the first half with the final two goals of the half, then striking for another two minutes into the second half to move out to a six-goal, 12-6 lead.

Led by junior midfielder Abby Parisi (Fairfield) and sophomore Alexa Vizzini (Vernon, NJ), Eastern matched Keene's total of 13 draws. Parisi and Vizzini each collected four, with Parisi and first-year defender Grace Saldaña (Colchester) leading the Warriors with three ground balls each. Senior goalie Mackenzie Brown (Southington) made stops on 13 of Keene's 38 shots.

Vizzini and sophomore attack Katie Campbell (Denver, CO) each had two goals for Eastern, with Vizzini adding two assists, as did senior midfielder Kaylee Drobish (Wallingford). Vizzini finished the season with 53 goals, 96 in just 33 career games (2.9 per match). Drobish finalized her career with 50 assists, equalling the seventh-most in program history, and 131 draws, the 12th-most in program history.

In addition to downing sixth-seeded University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday at Rick McCarthy Field, Eastern upended Plymouth State University, 14-10,  a month ago at home – the Panthers' last loss. On Thursday, third-seeded Plymouth reached the playoff finals against Keene by stunning top-seeded Western Connecticut, 13-8, at Westside Field in Danbury for its eighth straight win.

Against New England competitions this year, Eastern was 9-4. The team's five LEC wins were the most since 2018 and the second-place finish (tied with Keene) was the highest since 2018, when the Warriors also won five matches and reached the LEC playoff finals.
