HARTFORD, Conn.- Eastern Connecticut State University and Trinity College women's volleyball teams have a history of going into five sets when playing each other. Including Friday night at Ray Oosting Gymnasium, six of their last eight meetings have gone into the full five sets.

The Warriors got an early 2-0 set lead but couldn't hold on as Trinity (5-0) captured the final three en route to the non-conference win.

In the first set, Eastern trailed by five at one point, but rallied back to make it 22-17. Six straight serves by sophomore Brooke Praskievicz (Moodus) and .667% hitting percentage by senior Bella Johnson (Marlborough) tied the game at 24-24, forcing four set points. A block by sophomore Maggie Barr (Easthampton, MA) closed out the first with a Warrior win at 27-25. There was little scoring separation between the teams in the game as one close set followed another.

Eastern (3-3) won the second set 25-23, as the Bantams battled back to win the rest 25-21, 25-21, and 15-10.

Stat leaders for the Warriors included junior Liz Squier (Trevor, WI) with 21 assists and Praskievicz with 13 kills.  Johnson had 10 kills and first-year outside Emma Robinson (Westlake Village, CA) with nine. Junior Sadie Blackwell (Southbury) had a game high 25 digs.

The Warriors travel to Elms College in a non conference matchup Saturday at noon.
