Box Score
MANSFIELD, Conn. --  The surging Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse team had unanswered scoring runs of seven straight and eight straight goals and got points from 12 different players in remaining undefeated in the Little East Conference with a 20-7 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University Wednesday afternoon at Rick McCarthy Field.

WestConn graduate  student Jon Russack-Baker – the LEC leader in faceoff wins and ranked second in faceoff percentage – won 16 of 27 at the faceoff X and picked up a game-high 14 ground balls.

Led by junior midfielder Tristan McMahon (3-4-7), WestConn outshot Eastern by better than 2-to-1. Senior attack Matt Sweeney (1-3-4) and senior attack Julian Duque (4-0-4) both added four points for WestConn, whose 56-man roster ultimately wore down the Warriors.

Eastern sophomore Gregory Hilinski (Shelton) stopped 16 shots – equalling his second-highest total of the season.

The Warriors host the University of Southern Maine (2-12, 0-6 LEC) Saturday at 1 p.m. in their regular-season home finale before closing out the regular season April 25 at VTSU Castleton.
