MANSFIELD, Conn. – The Eastern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the match over the first 11 minutes of play and eased to a 17-5 Little East Conference victory over Vermont State University Castleton Saturday afternoon at Rick McCarthy Field.
Leading 14-1 at halftime after outshooting Castleton (2-9, 0-3 LEC) 24-8 over the first 30 minutes, Eastern took only nine shots in the second half, with two of its three second-half goals coming from reserves

Bree Foucault (Wallingford), who recorded her first career goal in the final seconds on her only shot of the match.
All 26 healthy players saw action. Eleven contributed at least one point, nine picked up at least one ground ball, and seven won at least one draw for Eastern (9-2, 1-1 LEC), which evened its conference record after dropping its LEC opener to defending LEC regular-season champion Western Connecticut, 14-9, on the road last Saturday.
Now 5-0 at home this year, Eastern defeated the Spartans for the 11
th straight time in the 11-game series history, the last six of which have come since Castleton joined the LEC in 2019.
First-team All-LEC junior attack
Alexa Vizzini (Vernon, NJ) reached 50 points for the third straight season by leading both teams with six goals and an assist to give her 51 points on the season. Vizzini moved into the all-time Top 10 in goals with 135 and from 14
th into a tie for 11

Kaylee Drobish (Wallingford) contributed three assists to give her a team-high 19 this year and 69 in her career – the fifth-high total in program history.

Emma Alford (West Hartford) stopped 14 shots and gave up only two goals over the first three periods for her second win in two decisions this year. First-year goalie

th appearance of the year.

Nina Cirianni (Whitehouse Station, NJ) had a goal and assist while senior defender
Emma Bringman (Danbury) made her first appearance of the season.
First-year graduate attack
Avonlea LeBeau (North Branford), who holds the Wheaton College career draw record of 231, led both teams with five draws to give her 50
th in her 11-game Eastern career and 281 in her five-year collegiate career. Senior midfielder
Abby Parisi (Fairfield) and Drobish each won three draws to help the Warriors to an 18-7 advantage in that department.
Eastern visits Keene State College (8-3, 2-1 LEC) Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a Little East game at the Owl Athletic Complex. The Owls are coming off Friday's 14-8 home loss to Western Connecticut after winning their first LEC contests against Massachusetts Boston (13-7) March 15 and Castleton (16-6) a week ago Friday.
As the No. 2 seed in last year's LEC playoffs, Keene defeated Eastern in the semifinal before losing to Plymouth State University in the title game.
