WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Junior Brooke Praskievicz (Moodus) and first-year player Allegra Copeland (Beaumont, CA) combined for 42 kills and a .402 attack percentage to lead the Eastern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team to a non-conference sweep Saturday at Francis E. Geissler Gymnastics.

Scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 against Worcester State University (1-6) and 25-13, 25-14, 25-15 against Bay Path University (1-3)

In winning its  ninth straight in the series against Worcester, Eastern (5-1) got ten kills from both Praskievicz and Copeland, with Copeland attacking at .500 with just one error on 18 attempts.  Senior Liz Squier (Trevor, WI) had 18 assists, first-year setter Sonya Nielsen (Waterford, WI) adding 17. Praskievicz led both teams with 16 digs, sophomore Emerson Conigliaro (Wake Forest, NC) adding 12. Conigliaro was also perfect on 22 reception attempts and now has a .978 reception percentage (two errors on 91 attempts) on the season.

In sweeping Bay Path for the fifth straight time in the five-match series, the Warriors attacked at .400 and totalled 11 service aces for the third time  this year, led by senior libero Samantha Blandford (Windham, NH) and Praskievicz, who combined for seven. Squier totalled 28 assists, Conigliaro 11 digs and first-year junior transfer libero Sarah Eldredge (South Windsor) ten.

On the afternoon, five players totalled ten or more kills. Praskievicz had 23 kills with a .365 attack percentage,  21 digs and four aces; Copeland 19 kills with a .457 attack percentage and 13 digs; junior middle Haley Jo Bridges (Montebello, NY) 17 kills; sophomore Emma Robinson (Westlake Village, CA) 15 kills; sophomore middle Addison Soleau (East Lyme) 12 kills with a .321 attack percentage and seven blocks; Conigliaro 23 digs and a perfect reception percentage on 30 attempts; Eldredge 14 digs and only one error on 19 receptions; and Blandford seven aces.

In six matches this year, Robinson has a team-leading 55 kills, Bridges 52 with a .311 attack percentage, and Praskievicz 47 kills; Squier has 126 assists and a team-leading 12 aces and Conigliaro a team-high 68 digs and Praskievicz 64.
Eastern visits Westfield State University Saturday to face the host Owls at 11 a.m. and the University of New England at 1 p.m.
